Marius & the needs
Marius & The Needs is original songs with a Cajun groove, and folk numbers that put you in a good mood while tickling your brain. Start with a violin juiced up with an extra low C string and a few effect pedals to make the solos take off. To this add drums, double bass and piano, played by exceptional musicians capable of making any crowd move to the groove. Add four voices that belt out sound in fiery moments and harmonize at others to become sweet and melodious. What you get is music that gets under your skin, melodies that delight and call all music lovers, whatever their kind, to join in the refrain!
COLLECTIF MEDZ BAZAR
Collectif Medz Bazar, created in Paris in 2012, is an urban diaspora band composed of musicians from Armenian, Turkish, French and American cultures. Drawing from their respective traditions, as well as from related ones, the members of the collective play original arrangements of folk music and create their own compositions. On stage, they offer a joyous jumble of sound, playing modal music, songs inspired by the folk music of Asia Minor and Iran, Caucasian Rabiz and songs of Thrace, throwing in more than a dash of Latin American music, Operetta, Hip Hop, Swing and Bluegrass!
Marius piBarot solo
Marius sings and plays violin, double bass and guitar on stage, using a loop station and effects pedals for some songs, simply playing acoustic for others. He explores different styles, such as bluegrass, Old Time, jazz and bossa nova, and composes songs in both French and English.
the glissandos
Are they brothers? Or just a ‘brother duet’? Check out the new album ‘Just Sliding’ featuring soaring cello and fiddle blended together with original harmonies. Their vibe is fun and whimsical at the onset, and hits home with thoughtful and often melancholy original songs. Marius Pibarot (Collectif Medz Bazar) and Duncan Wickel (Rising Appalachia, Molly Tuttle) first met in their teens during a music camp in the Midwest and started touring as a duo in France years later.
